Drs. Callaway, Flickinger & Weissman, Department of Emergency Medicine, Applied Physiology Lab (APL) specialize in human physiology experiments, pharmacokinetic studies and protocol development. They are currently funded by the Translational Research Institute for Space Health (TRISH), investigating metabolic manipulation for long-duration spaceflight. Further areas of interest include space medicine and astronaut health and performance. Drs. Callaway and Weissman’s expertise in emergency medicine and clinical care, combined with Dr. Flickinger’s expertise as an exercise physiologist allows for an optimal environment to perform novel, and intensive human physiologic research.
