Evan Schneider

Physics and Astronomy Department

Prof. Schneider uses the largest supercomputers in the world to understand the astrophysics that govern the formation of stars and galaxies.  Thanks to the Hubble Space Telescope, James Webb Space Telescope, and Chandra Observatory, astronomers have recently begun to make better measurements of the gas in and around galaxies.  Understanding the energy and motion of this gas helps us better understand how stars form and how galaxies themselves grow and evolve.
