Ian Flynn

Geology and Environmental Science Department

Dr. Ian T.W. Flynn earned a B.S. in Geoscience and a B.S. in Marine Science from Rider University in 2017. His Ph.D. is in Geology and Environmental Science from the University of Pittsburgh, which he earned in 2022. He is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Geology and Environmental Science, and his research primarily utilizes satellite remote sensing and modeling to investigate volcanic processes on Earth and other planetary bodies (e.g., Mars, Venus, and icy moons). He is presently an affiliated scientist with several NASA missions and an active member of the Venus Exploration and Analysis Group (VEXAG) and the Analogs for VENus’ GEologically Recent Surfaces (AVENGERS) project.
