Kristen Koltun

Dr. Kristen Koltun is an Assistant Professor of Sports Medicine and Nutrition and member of the Neuromuscular Research Laboratory/Warrior Human Performance Center at the University of Pittsburgh. Her research projects, supported by the Department of Defense, center on the interactions among metabolism, endocrinology, and musculoskeletal health in physically active women and men to investigate physiological factors underlying bone adaptation to changes in loading patterns, such as during exercise or military training. As an exercise physiologist, expertise in musculoskeletal health and human performance optimization also has relevant applications to spaceflight countermeasures research.
