Matthew Barry is a Visiting Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science department at the University of Pittsburgh. He earned a B.A. in History, a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, and a Nuclear Engineering Certificate from the University of Pittsburgh. His diverse experiences include working with the Army Corps of Engineers, in the power generation industry, interning at the Department of Energy National Energy Technology Laboratory, and teaching at Youngstown State University. Matthew's research interests include Engineering Education and Space Power Generation. He has advised various student groups with regards to space-related activities and is the current advisor for the Society of Astronautics and Rocketry.
