Peyman is Pitt's representative at the Universities Space Research Association (usra.edu). His research is focused on both Aero and Space science and engineering, and he has had very strong collaborations with NASA for over 30 years. He has been involved in developing mathematical and computational models for a wide variety of problems in aerospace sciences. Several of his former doctoral students are enjoying very successful careers at NASA, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Honeywell Aerospace, Collins Aerospace Pratt & Whitney, and Rolls Royce. Several of his other doctoral students have served as successful professors at top engineering schools in this country and abroad, including Purdue, Univ. Minnesota, University of Illinois at Urbana Champagne, Michigan State, Clemson, Univ. Arizona, SUNY-Buffalo, University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Connecticut and Technion. Several of his other PhD students are leaders in computational science of aerospace at software companies including ANSYS, CFDRC, CERFACE (France).
