I am a seasoned researcher with extensive expertise in space medicine and radiation biology. My research interest lies in addressing the critical challenges associated with Radiation-Induced Gastrointestinal Syndrome (RIGS), which results in the acute depletion of intestinal stem cells, impaired epithelial regeneration, and severe complications such as electrolyte imbalance and sepsis. My research leverages multi-omics approaches to elucidate the mechanisms of stem cell function under radiation-induced stress, with a strong focus on developing therapeutic strategies that can remain effective even when administered days post-exposure. By utilizing drug repurposing strategies and leveraging compound-target pair databases and tools, we are interested in identifying potential molecular targets and therapeutic compounds that could be effectively repurposed to mitigate radiation-induced gastrointestinal injury. This approach will facilitate the discovery of promising therapeutic candidates that can accelerate the recovery of intestinal function and enhance patient outcomes in radiation exposure scenarios.
